Lower Monumental Dam Closes Public Crossing
Until May 30 to Perform Spillway Maintenance

Water runs through spillway gates of Lower Monumental Dam on the Lower Snake River in southeastern Washington. Increased spills benefit salmon. KAHLOTUS, WA -- Starting Monday, April 25, officials at Lower Monumental Lock and Dam will close crossings to the public in order to perform spillway maintenance. According to the US Army Corps of Engineers, public crossing will be closed until May 30.

Normal public crossing hours are once an hour, on the half-hour, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Public dam crossings are also available at Lower Granite Lock and Dam and Little Goose Lock and Dam.
