Army Corps Reminds Visitors of Rules at Illia Dunes, Granite Point by Staff Daily Fly, August 18, 2026

POMEROY, WA -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is reminding visitors to follow recreation and safety rules at Illia Dunes and Granite Point as the busy summer season continues. Visitors should also expect an increased presence of law enforcement officers and park rangers.

Alcohol and illicit drugs are prohibited at both locations. Marijuana also remains illegal because the recreation sites are on federal land.

At Granite Point, cliff jumping and diving are prohibited, and parking is limited to 16 vehicles. Illia Dunes has parking for approximately 100 vehicles. Lower Granite Dam crossings are available daily from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with northbound crossings on the half-hour and southbound crossings at the top of the hour.

Visitors must park in designated U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lots. Glass containers, beer pong tables, beer funnels and fireworks are prohibited, and pets must be kept under control.
