RICHLAND, Wash. -- The operators of the only nuclear power plant in the Northwest say it generated a record amount of electricity in the fiscal year that ended in June.
Energy Northwest says the Columbia Generating Station at Richland generated 9.7 million megawatt hours, breaking the old record of 9.5 million megawatt hours generated in fiscal 2006.
The electricity is sold at cost to the Bonneville Power Administration which supplies utilities in the Northwest.
