American Cruise Lines Begins Largest
by Sarah Kuta |
American Cruise Lines has kicked off its largest season ever on the Columbia and Snake rivers, with five ships sailing on the waterways from April to November. The company also has two small ships sailing in Puget Sound and Alaska this season.
The cruise line will have three modern riverboats and two classic paddlewheels on the Columbia and Snake rivers this year. American Song, American Harmony and American West have already set sail, while American Jazz and American Pride are slated to hit the water this week.
Itineraries range from six to 16 days in duration and include a wide array of excursions, including jet boat rides, flightseeing adventures in Hells Canyon and visits to Mt. St. Helens and Multnomah Falls.
The company is also offering special themed sailings, including 9-day Lewis & Clark cruises with onboard experts, as well as 9-day art immersion voyages and 9-day vineyard cruises.
American Cruise Lines is rapidly expanding its fleet. Earlier this month, the company bought four vessels from American Queen Voyages, which shut down in February. A few days later, the cruise line also announced it's building two additional ships, American Patriot and American Pioneer.
