Hydro Project Added to Water Supply System Overhaul by Staff International Water Power & Dam Construction, August 8, 2011

Bend City Council in Oregon, US, has approved plans to develop a $5.5M hydroelectric system as part of a project to overhaul to city's water supply system, OPB news has reported.

Work on the project is expected to begin next spring, the City Manager Eric King told reporters. The project, which will produce enough electricity to power 1000 homes, would help offset some of the costs for the $63M water supply rehabilitation project.
