Salmon advocates will speak about the ecological and economic benefits of dam breaching during a panel discussion at Lewis-Clark State College Thursday.
Many salmon and steelhead advocates favor removing the four lower Snake River dams as the best way to recover threatened and endangered fish runs. But the strategy that would end barge transportation between Lewiston and the Tri-Cities is controversial and has failed to win wide-spread regional support.
